A simple telephone call may be enough - or you may need a Letter to Landlord Requesting Repairs.
This may be a requirement in your Property Rental Agreement, or the first step for yourself to stay within the law.
Refer to the information on whether you can hold back the rent on our Renters Rights page and note that the landlord must be allowed a reasonable amount of time to effect repairs.
